What do successful business people do before starting a venture? Right. They assemble their Master Mind Team. Discover the secret of Andrew Carnegie’s riches in this post by Stuart Zadel.
The Mastermind Team.
The Mastermind Team may be defined as the synergy or the harmony shared between like-minded individuals, which leads to knowledge, purpose, and expertise.
I tell you, Andrew Carnegie was definite on this principle.
If any person was out of harmony, they’ll get a talking to or they’ll be removed from the business. There’s that saying that goes, “One bad apple spoils the barrel.” This is so true when it comes to attitude. There must be harmony.
One of the toughest things I’ve seen was people coming to me saying, “I’m on board, but my wife’s not. My wife’s not on board, she’d come up, but my partner’s not supportive of me.” Everything they say this, I say, “Man, what a tough way to live your life! To want to do something with a partner that’s not aligned with where you want to go.”
I’m like, “If I’m going to go there, I’ll get this thing right. She’s going to be aligned, there will be a good chance we’re heading in the same direction.” It’s a tough thing, and I keep coming back to this because I just never see it work without it.
If you have a definite purpose or want to achieve a goal but you’re doing it on your own, you’re not thinking big enough. Think bigger and have like-minded people by your side.
Believe it or not, Carnegie was the richest man in the steel industry. Yet he told Napoleon Hill that he knew nothing about manufacturing and marketing steel. Napoleon said, “Carnegie personally knew nothing about the technical end of the steel business. Moreover, he did not care to know anything about it.”
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the principle that can bridge every deficiency you have. The only one you can say that you can’t bridge is burning desire. But even Adam Hudson challenged me on that. He said that the first thing you outsource is motivation. He said, “Get a coach. Get a trainer!” I should’ve said that. I have been a trainer my whole life. It might catch on maybe on the start, but it has to come from inside.
Specialists are required for marketing and manufacturing steel, and Carnegie found it freely available in individual units in his Mastermind Group. He has the best 20 in the world: the best metallurgist, marketer, plant manager – the best everything. Over time, you can do this.
I tell you what, here’s what wealthy people do when they start a venture or a new business. They go:
“Who can we get on the bus to ensure our success?”
