And the best part? You can visit the showrooms in your area so that you can experience the actual ‘feel’ of a new bathroom!
Have You Set Up A Realistic Budget?
How much are you willing to spend? How much can you actually afford? When you create your budget, you should factor labour on your list first. It’s important that you pay tradies on time because they’re your partners (unless you’re doing a DIY renovation). From there, you can set how much you can spend.
Have You Created A Plan?
As in every project, you have to have a plan. Gut your bathroom according to the changes that you want to make. This is the perfect time for you to write down your ideas and to take note of the features and accessories that you want to add to your new bathroom.
Have You Considered The Relationship Between Style And Function?
Style includes your choices of colour, tile, flooring, hardware and accessory. On the other hand, function pertains to how well the different elements in the bathroom can work together to help fulfil its intended purpose, i.e bath spa, steam bath, etc.
Have You Considered Storage?
If you’re working on a bathroom with limited space, consider space-saving options. This includes deciding on whether a cabinet, a shelf or a rack is suitable or not in a given area of the bathroom. This is pretty important because storage spaces are one of the features that potential buyers are looking for.
Have You Thought About Lighting? I’ve written a separate blog about this, but one thing that you should remember is adequate lighting. This is especially applicable to bathrooms that don’t have a natural light source. An appropriate amount of light won’t only beautify the bathroom. It will also contribute to safety.
How About Going Green?
Going green is becoming the trend nowadays and for good reason. Investing in green appliances and materials for your bathroom helps save costs on water and electricity. Don’t worry! Green technology are also style eye candies! On top of that, you’re doing dear Earth a huge favour!
